  • Copy/paste FFD animation from the same object

Hello everybody,

I worked a lot with the FFD, it's amazing. I'm not realy use the bones, and because of that, I have to copy - paste many object and animated again and again... It will be wonderfull if there are a feature to copy - paste my FFD animated !

So, my problem is: if I maked a good animation with the FFD, and I want duplicated it from the same asset, I lost my FFD's animation with new asset...

For exemple, I create cool smoke FX from a asset I have alreay deform, and I say "ouha I want the same around it to make a better FX smoke!"
So I copy "smoke_01_asset" and past it "smoke_02_asset" ... But it's work only with the asset, and not with the animation!

So, actualy a have to create a new FFD's animation for the new copy of my asset's smoke... And it's really, really long... to make it again...

Maybe can you help me? Maybe it's will be a awsome feature o

Could you keep the same FFD but swap the texture at runtime?

Ok, the problem is:

I can copy-paste a asset, in the setup mode. But I loose my original animation from my original asset.

But, I want keep the same animation from my original asset!

So I draw my problem with my smoke's animation exemple.

Keeping the FFD animation when duplicating is definitely something we want in there, can't say exactly when we'll be able to get to it but Nate just got back and should be able to shed a little light on it, I don't think it's something that will take him too long to add but I can't say for sure.
