  • Holy crap!?!! what's that old saying? Any Spine animation sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic.

That is absolutely incredible. Thanks for doing work like this, I think it will go a long way to making Spine the industry standard.

    Cheers mate

  • Thanks Erikari, you're totally right, I think it's because it's weight drops down at the same rate that it goes up, like you said it makes it look like it's hovering. Thanks for that, and for the words of kindness.

Can't wait to show some of this stuff, this artist i'm working with's brain is an interesting place.

Please keep the good advice coming.

Hey y'all, here's our first shot at a antagonist. I'm not sure why this is a bad guy, it seems so friendly to me.

Anyhoops, more advice is welcomed, cheers.

  • Thanks for taking the time guys, I'll keep digging.

  • Hi Everyone,

So I have a job coming up that is based in HTML 5, I am a complete tech noob and was hoping for some help.

I absolutely love Spine and is by far my favourite tool to use in terms of ease, results and workflow but I don't know how easily compatible with HTML 5 it is, if at all?

I was wondering if someone would be able to highlight what does and doesn't work and also how easy it is to integrate?

Also If Spine isn't an option what is my best bet, I presume Adobe Animate but using Flash makes me feel quite ill.

Thanks in advance y'all, any help is appreciated.

  • Ha, that'll do nicely.

    Thanks a lot mate

  • Howdy y'all, hope everything is groovy. Have been seeing some crazy good stuff on here recently.

I've started a new small project with a programmer friend of mine and a local artist. I originally tried to lure said artist into making a game by stealing some work from his blog and animating it, it turned out to work a treat so I could save the physical favours for a later date.

Anyway, here's that first anim I did of a possible protagonist, I wanted to share it with you guys because you are so good with honest and helpful feedback, I should get a fair amount of work from this project over the next month so as long as anyone cares I'll keep posting.

    Cheers guys.

  • Niiiice one, they are beautiful.

Spine has truly Mech it's match... sorry

Aw, cheers, that's super nice of you. I used myself getting into bed whilst drunk as the inspiration.

    Too funny!

ALL done in spine yeah? 😃

Aw, cheers, that's super nice of you. I used myself getting into bed whilst drunk as the inspiration.

Yeah all Spine, I love this thing, I've only been on it recently, it's really starting to get the reputation it deserves though.

Have you been using it much?

Love those animations! Thanks for sharing.

I've taken the liberty of fixing your embedded youtube link. You can edit your post to see how to do it in the future 🙂

Thanks Shiu, that means a lot. and thanks for fixing the video, I believe my tiny mind understands.

    Looks pretty cool! 'Fluid' 😉
Colors a silhouette look really nice, and the 'rayman' style hands/ feet work really well with it.

What are you planning on doing with him?

Cheers mate, yeah them 'Ray-limbs' are the definition of simple but effective right, plus knees are just a disgusting part of the body, get them out of there.

I'm not sure really, might use him to try to brush up on my unity, or just send him to Coke and hope I get a free drink out of it. Any ideas are welcome.

Still can't figure this GIF issue out so here's a vid of all four animations, link and embedded. Not sure if the embedded one is working either. I'm smashing this posting content thing.

    .... ew. I love it.

Ha, thanks Mitch, too kind, and yeah, that little drink has problems.

  • Hi everyone,

Just two quick things. Firstly, thank you so much to the esoteric team, Spine is such a delight to use. Really appreciate your initial hard work, and your continual mission to keep it rad. This program feels like warm gold on my fingers.

Secondly I wanted to thank anyone who has posted on here, there is so much inspiring and creative work and I hope to be up there with y'all at some point. I have never been good at sharing my work but this community seems so supportive but also honest in their feedback that I would love to be a part of it and hopefully get any help I can.

Anyhoops, here's some moves I made based on a particularly delicious and life changing slush based beverage that had at the cinema the other day, like I said I would love for any advice,

    cheers in advance,

    Joe

PS I have two other gifs I have made in spine but when I try to upload them here it says the images are invalid, I'm guessing it's the size but if anyone has the specifics about the constraints that would be swell, thanks.

  • Ha, what kind Animator makes a game where every character has at least six limbs?? You're an insane genius.

Thanks for sharing all this stuff man, it's all so good

  • What the...... That is absolutely stunning. And thank you so much for taking the time to show your process, it was really insightful.
