  • Hello,
My company recently switched to an enterprise version of Spine and rolled it out. Most current users were able to download and start up without incident, however, there are a handful of us who's Enterprise editions will not launch. It seems to install but nothing happens when we try and start up. I am on a Windows 10 Alienware laptop. Please advise. We tried turning off all anti virus software and that doesn't do it.
    Here is the error log.

Sorry, Spine has encountered a fatal error.

    Antivirus software may crash Spine.
Please disable any antivirus software or safelist Spine.

  • Thanks so much @Nate and @Erika... This does answer my questions. I appreciate the help. You 2 are the best.

  • Is the preview window the ultimate way things will look in game? I am getting all sorts of weirdness in that window at times that doesn't make sense.

    1) There are times when a piece or multiple pieces are turned off on my animation timeline, but they show up in the Preview window. Will it export the way i am seeing it in the animation timeline (off) or the way i am seeing it in the preview window (on)?

    2) When i switch between animations in Preview mode, i'll get weirdness, like pieces jumping /straight inbetweening into position while animating the first time thru. This stops after the first playthru. Will this happen at runtime, or can i trust that it will snap from one animation to another animation as intended?

  • Thanks @Erika...version 3.8.99
How do get the log info?

  • @Nate. Fantastic ! Thanks so much. I appreciate the quick response.

  • Hello,
I am having trouble exporting in .mov from Spine.
Gifs and AVI's work but i get this error mesage for .mov

  • @Nate ,
Thanks for the reply. I am referring to instances where several animations would blend from one animation to another at runtime. Will not having "closed keys" on each timeline make for strange blending between animation interpolations?

  • Hello,
Is "Closing out" a timeline necessary? Especially if you have multiple animations that will fire?
Meaning, is it necessary to copy paste all last keyframes at the end of a sequence to "close it out" so that transitions or blends will be smoother? My tech artist said i needed to do this, but it can be time consuming.

example 1 not closed out = some last keys are mid timeline

example 2 closed out = all last keys that might fall mid timeline are copied and pasted to the end to "close it out."

  • What is the best way to use an animated png sequence you created in another program as a guide inside Spine? Is there a way to knock that guide png sequence back so that you can clearly see the rigged character?

  • Great info. Thanks again.

  • @Erika and @Soren,

Yes, sorry...I meant mesh vertices and edges when I said nodes.
Both of your responses were very helpful. I think I get it now. Thank you both so much.

Follow up question then, why would you not just orange line connect everything if it allows for better weight and geometry edge control?

  • Can someone tell me if there is a difference between just placing free floating nodes, vs placing them with the orange connecting lines. I see some people just place nodes everywhere without orange connecting lines, and some who place only a few orange connecting lines. Is there a difference? Do the connecting lines do something that just placing nodes free floating does not?

  • @[supprimé]

Yep.That did it. Thanks for the help.
