First Steps in animation - Walk Cycle(s)
Hello,
My name is Ippokratis and I am new to animation and Spine.
Here is my first walk cycle!
I can "feel" that the animation has many issues, but my eyes are not trained yet to spot and fix them. Another few hundreds of walk cycles and it 'll work
I try to learn from various tutorials and any feedback you can give is appreciated. Especially if you can indicate the mistakes.
Kind regards.
Hmmm from a cursory glance the feet look a bit floaty. I'm guessing there's no IK on this rig as that could help a lot with planting the feet. The gait feels a bit off. The swing of the arms could use some ease in/out. I usually offset the timing on the arms so it's not synced exactly with the leg movement, makes it look less robotic.
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.
- You are right - the feet are "skating on ice" - I 'll try to use the IK to "plant" them, FK was a pain for this task.
- The gait -> the body is off its mass center indeed, gotta read more on that.
- Good points for the arms.
I had a look at the project you are working on, putting different views of the character parts (front, side, 3/4 etc) is a clever idea.
Thanks for your time
