Learn to Read Visually!
Hello guys! I'm working on an app to teach kids with auditory processing and hearing impairments to read through a visual method, using shapes and colors as the primary method of mapping letters for them. I've just thrown up my demo - it only has 4 activities so far, and I've still got a long way to go - but Spine is all over my app! It's used for:
1- all creature animations
2- my transitions between scenes
3- the submarine animation in, shooting, and zooming in
Spine has been a dream to work with, and I'd like to thank Nate and the guys for giving such a gift to the world! You can visit the demo here: https://readvisually.org - all comments or critiques are welcome!
This is a great idea! I've tried out the website, but apart from moving around the letters, I couldn't figure out what to do. Do you have a manual for my dumb old brain?
Yeah the final app will be way more polished, and will be served inside a website too The first scene just has the child feeding letters to the fish. I planned to add a hand showing the kid what to do for each scene a bit later.
I tested on my Mac and the sizing is all off for stuff - I've developed for tablet size - I'll be working on that today (the 2nd activity the hitArea is way off - it's 1/2 way between the barrel and the left side).
Should have improvements up later today - thanks for the kind words!
Ahh, that makes sense! Looks good overall, keep us updated!
