[Request] Stop Hierarchy autoselect Animation?
Hi;
I don't want to become that neat picking guys :nerd:... But this is one is actually pretty annoying:
When you select an animation in the Animations window, it also select it in the Hierarchy, making the whole Hierarchy window scrolling down to the animation in question. Although I understand the overall concept of highlighting things in the Hierarchy when selected, it doesn't seem relevant or useful for the case of animations (for what I can tell). It just systematically messes up my workflow by turning upside down the hierarchy every time I change animation. Especially annoying when checking Draw Order on several animations for example.
Thanks for your time! And cheers to you guys, I'm currently having the time of my life making those animations. :love:
Selecting an Animation in the Animations view/panel shouldn't select the Animation in the Tree?
Is that what you meant?
If so, I totally agree.
Yes that is exactly what I mean. Not sure how I managed to make that 10x longer and more complex!
Well, you managed to explain why. That's very important so we can convince Nate and Shiu. :p
If I may, I would like to re-open that topic. I followed the conversation on GitHub and it doesn't seem to solve the problem we describe.
NB: tree tracking = "Expand and scroll the tree as the editor selection change".
Currently, with tree tracking enabled, whenever you click an animation, it's selected in the tree and the tree scrolls to it. This is annoying, as described by Pharan and I above. I appreciate the tree-tracking but I have to disable it to prevent that painful behavior. Is this behavior ever useful anyway...? Why not just prevent scrolling and auto-selection of animation in the tree at all time?
