Nate You can play animations backward in the editor. Click the "<|" button. At runtime you can specify the time from duration to 0 to play backward.
Søren You can also scale the animation in the dopesheet negatively to flip it. Just drag a box around all the keys and drag the left side in front of the right, then move the animation to the start.
