(1) JSON doesn't support comments.
(2) I agree. There should be some way to export the list of animations so you can look at it and maybe paste the list into your code.
(3) Save this .html file to your computer. Open it, then paste your json in the text box. It will give you the animation list as plain text you can copy and paste.

(4) @Nate: Could the Skeleton Viewer be made to throw up a textbox a user could copy and paste from?
