  • Mesh attachment change in slider/animation

Hello together,

i have the following problem.

I have created two "follow-up" sliders. The first one is a hand movement from A to B. In it i change the mesh attachment for up to 4 meshs and deform them (animation: "Slider Arm l")

Everything works as intended. I use the last posing frame for another animation/slider called "Slider Yor Hand".
So i copied the last frames from animation "Slider Arm l" to "Slider Yor Hand". For some reason the mesh change doesn't work in the correct way anymore. The right mesh attachment is chosen "Yor - UA l Var", but it still shows the "old " picture "Yor - UA l". This was only an example for this attachment, the same is for "OA l" and "Hand l".

In the beginning during the creation it worked, but now not anymore. I don't know what happened or what i have changed to get this result.

Can somebody tell why the right attachment/picture isn't displayed or what i can do to correct it?

I already sent a mail to contact@esotericsoftware.com.

Thanks in advance!

Regards

borleech Thank you for creating this thread!

The reason the mesh shape and attachment switching did not work as expected with your skeleton is that the Mix value for the Slider Arm L slider in the setup was set to 100. This caused the pose of the Slider Arm l animation to affect all animations, resulting in improper attachment switching. Setting the Mix value for Slider Arm l to 0 in the setup mode should resolve the issue.

If the problem persists, please let us know.

Sliders can create confusing situations. It can be tricky to see!

Remember that all animations are applied first, then constraints are applied. Sliders are a constraint so it's good to pay special attention to what sliders have a mix > 0, especially in the setup pose. A slider will overwrite the existing pose unless Additive is checked on the slider.

@Misaki and @Nate Thank you for looking at this problem. It solved the problem. Awesome! Thought i would have to recreate the mesh and the animation 🙂
