Spine does not typically provide updates or new features for older versions of the editor. The focus is generally on improving the current version and adding new features there. This is because maintaining and updating older versions can be complex, especially when considering compatibility with runtimes and other dependencies. However, suggestions for new features or improvements are always welcome, and the team considers them for future versions of the editor.
People who still using Spine version 3.8 or other old versions are missing out on more than 5 years of our development and efforts to improve the software. The answer is not that we should improve the old versions -- we've already done that! 
For the best experience we recommend using the latest version of Spine.
