The hot key for "Setup Pose: ctrl + shift + J " is not working
Set Up Pose Hot Key not responding
If the "Setup Pose: ctrl + shift + J" hotkey is not working, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Check Hotkey Settings: Ensure that the hotkey is correctly set in the Spine settings. You can do this by opening the Spine settings menu (click the Spine logo in the top left corner or press F12), navigating to the Application tab, and checking the hotkeys under Files -> Hotkeys.
Reset Hotkeys: If there is an error in the hotkeys.txt file, you can reset the hotkey settings to their defaults. To do this, press the Defaults button in the Spine Settings window. If you do not want to lose your current hotkey settings, you can back up the hotkeys.txt file before resetting.
Check for Conflicts: Ensure that no other software or global hotkeys are interfering with Spine. Sometimes other applications can capture the same key combinations, preventing them from reaching Spine.
Test Other Hotkeys: Try setting the "Setup Pose" action to a different key combination to see if it works. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the "ctrl + shift + J" combination.
Check for Stuck Keys: Sometimes keys can get stuck in a pressed state. Pressing and releasing the ctrl, shift, and J keys on both sides of your keyboard can help reset their state.
Review spine.log: Check the spine.log file for any errors related to hotkeys. The log file can be found in the following locations:
- Windows:
<user home folder>\Spine\spine.log
- Mac:
<user home folder>/Library/Application Support/Spine/spine.log
- Linux:
<user home folder>/.spine/spine.log
- Windows:
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be helpful to try restarting Spine or even your computer to ensure there are no lingering issues.
I’m using the latest version, it just not working for me.
I reinstalled spine and reset the hotkey to default, still not working for me. It’s just not responding to shift ctrl j
chuckle70 I understand. Now, to confirm that there is no discrepancy in your perception of what this hotkey does and how to use it, please watch the following video demonstrating the use of the Setup Pose
hotkey:
Pressing this hotkey while editing an animation in animate mode will reset the pose to the setup pose. In the video above, I used this hotkey with no bones selected. If you had bones selected, only the currently selected bones will be reset to the setup pose.
If the Setup Pose
hotkey does not work as it does in this video under yours, please make sure that the key is correctly specified in the Setup Pose
field of the hotkeys.txt file:
Everything works now I have figured out my problem. I had the filter key turned on and it was set to "events" in the dopesheet. I guess when the keys are hidden you aren't supposed to change them by resetting them, it logically makes sense.
I just forgot I was in a filtered state, but now I know where to check when things are not behaving.
Thank you Misaki for the quick response!
