  • Photoshop to Spine Script - Scale Layer Tag issue

Hello,
I've a png sequence of a light sweep that moves left to right over a large letter K (King symbol for slot game). I've put a [scale:0.25] layer tag on the folder containing the sequence and exported using the script. Here are my export settings:

However there's an issue when importing the data into Spine. Some of the images in the sequence either seem to jump around or have been cut off at the bottom or top. Here's a video of what's happening:

I'm guessing this has something to do with the way images are compressed as they are scaled down but if anyone has any suggestions or fixes to the script that would be awesome!
Many thanks, StevieP

Misaki Hi, apologies for my slow response. I will email you the PSD file asap. Many thanks for having a look at it for me. StevieP

plunksville Thank you for sending the PSD file! I have confirmed that the issue can be reproduced on my end. This is indeed related to the scale tag, but the problem appears to occur when Trim whitespace is enabled in the settings of PhotoshopToSpine. Disabling it makes the output images have lots of whitespace, but you can trim them by enabling Strip whitespace X/Y in the texture packer settings when you pack the texture in Spine, so it should be a workaround for now.

I have created an issue ticket here:

Hey Misaki, many thanks for looking into this issue for me & thanks for the work around suggestions for now. Unfortunately the studio I work for has it's own pipeline for implementing Spines so I'm not able to Spine's texture packer. A fix to the script would be great, do you know when this might happen?

plunksville I understand your situation, but I am afraid that we cannot answer exactly when. Also, there is a possibility that this issue cannot be resolved due to a problem on the functional side of Photoshop. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but please see if the studio can enable Strip whitespace X/Y for the Spine project. It is enabled by default in 4.0, so unless the studio has it disabled, it should be enabled.
