hi !Siniša

Welcome Siniša! I am happy to hear that Esoteric Software is growing, and I am looking forward to the animation tutorials!
I also enjoyed Prince of Persia, The Sands of Time when I was younger 🙂

Hi Siniša 🙂
Can't wait to learn some new techniques ^^

Thanks for the warm welcome 😉

By the way I had similar experience playing games. My mother brought home her PC from work 1996, and I was amazed with Prince of Persia thought never passed fully. and similarly when I saw the release of Prince of Persia Sands of time I immediately jumped in and again graphics shocked me. and PoP Sands of time I believe is the best from the series. really happy to see you in the ES team.

Hello again everybody! The first video will probably be published around the end of August/beginning of September. I aim to publish one video per month. I will start by covering the basics of the animation, so if you are more advanced, don't worry, you can still learn a lot. Try to do the exercises, they will definitely benefit you to become a better animator. They are short, fun, and designed to get better and more proficient in animation and Spine. Looking forward to hearing your opinion when we start publishing them!

Hello everybody! Just to let you know that the videos are a bit delayed. As you know we are working on the new Graph view which will be a full curve editor in Spine 4.0 release. I can just tell you your animations will level up! With this change, I decided to re-record the lessons so we can have an intro into a new feature! Stick around a little longer! Thanks for the wait, and sorry....but it will be worth it, the graph is amazing!

Welcome!

If you find some time - some tips on animating water and particles using bones, without FBF type animations would be really welcome. I'm self taught and newish to animating, and I'd love to make some impact hit fx in Spine!

Thanks, wax_lyrical!

Water is hard! Even doing physics simulations in 3d can be really difficult to make the water look good. Luckily we work with 2d so you can stylize a lot! Anyhow, it's hard to give a tip as I don't have enough info about your project. It is possible, but you have to know exactly what do you want to accomplish. I would recommend you to check these books: Elemental Magic, Volume I and Volume II by Joseph Gilland. He was a Disney special effects animator. The books are easy and fun to go through and definitely a must-have for every animator (if you are doing any kind of animated effects). Hope this helps. Let me know
