Hi everyone!
I hope this makes sense.
So I want to create what is essentially a graph line with round edges, where the position of each point is determined by a path constraint. So, I have laid out a number of line meshes with two bones each, where the right bone of Line1 aligns with the left bone of Line2 etc etc. In total there are 4 meshes and 5 points.
I also want to preserve the roundness of the sides and the thickness of each line. I have achieved this by creating two IK constraints for each mesh so that their left and right bones are always looking at each other. This way the line can stretch as much as it wants without distorting. This works great when I am just dragging the bones around by hand:
Because I want each point to follow the path in a relative way, I created 5 other bones with path constraints and parented the appropriate Line bones so that they follow those bones. But when I manipulate the path constraints, the IK's refuse to follow the new bone positions:
It seems that the position the bones get from the constraint doesn't "count" towards the IK? Is there a way to fix it or perhaps another way to achieve something similar to what I want?
Hope someone can help!
Cheers
