Spine Appreciation Thread
Greetings fellow game designers.
I created this thread so we can express our gratitude for this amazing software.
Every time I open Spine and read documentation I get psyched to work on it and code with it.
2D skeletal animation finally got the support it deserved, and the price on this software is incredibly low.
Will use it in every game I can, and I'll be watching Esoteric Software for any new stuff.
Thanks for this well-polished, very useful tool.
Thanks! It is very inspiring to hear that you are enjoying the tool. We hope to see more great animations in all your games!
Thanks a ton We really appreciate it. Like Nate says, it's really inspiring to see what users of Spine create with it.
I really love how polished this software is; there are loads of little things I keep noticing that the software would work just fine without, but that nonetheless are really helpful. As an artist though, I think the thing I love the most about this software is that it means I may never have to look at another .ini file again ^^ thank you Esoteric for removing that hell from my life!! Your interface is a thousand times nicer to look at than WordPad.
(EDIT: Further appreciation incoming)
Araraaaagh I just noticed you added meshes and FFD!! Maan, you guys are my heroes. Me and my programmer have been working on making a game for years and years, but every project we start gets way too big for us and it's always because of animation; one untrained programmer trying to write a whole animation engine with one untrained artist trying to do everything frame by frame, both having day jobs as well... :/ Anime Studio helped, but then there was the problem of creating all those sprite sheets and lining everything up and it didn't help with the programming side of things anyway...
But we've almost made an entire game now, all that's left to do is actually add content to it, and it's all entirely thanks to Spine. We never, ever, ever would have had time to get this far without it. Thank you guys for making the dreams of many a bedroom programmer come true! =D
